To Blog Or To Flog?
In recent years, there was an exponential increase in the number of blogs created. Many friends around me has started their own blogs and updates almost everyday. I don't really have the habit of writing diaries, so i have not hop onto the bandwagon yet. But i am a fan of a couple of famous blogs, and reads them regularly. So, is a blog a useful medium of communication?
Pros.Blogging is a good and easy way to express one's thoughts and muses. If someone chances on something funny, why keep it to himself? Share the fun with the world by blogging! One famous blogger who does this often is my favourite, Kenny Sia. As he goes around the world, he encounters many funny stuff, and blogs to share them with his readers. This brought me many laughter and fun in my mundane life.
Even if the jokes are not on random stuff, they could be about the blogger's own views on how the country is run. These blogs usually critics on the various policies of their countries. The blogs are crucial to governments to find out what normal folks actually feels about how the country is ran. Blogs like these include the Mr Brown Show. If not for this blog, not much people will know about 'mee siam mai hum'.
Cons.Blogs are published on the net, which meant that the contents are expose to anyone who surfs the net. Therefore bloggers must be extra cautious about what they are blogging. There was once a chinese blogger in Singapore who posted racist remarks towards Malays. He was caught and was sentenced to jail for spreading false information on the net.
I feel that blogs are a very popular and successful way to communicate with the masses, so one must always be careful about what he/she posts on blogs.

My Compo.
Perseverance
To be honest, I was afraid of the outcome of the game. Actually, I was terrified. All the possible outcomes of the game were swarming in my head like flies and I want to swat them out of my mind. I sense the dread on my teammates’ faces too. The atmosphere in the locker room was too serious and quiet, which I did not like at all.
Finally it was time. We lined up like a platoon of soldiers going into war. It will not be pretty. As we stepped into the stadium, to the roaring of the crowd, I suddenly felt a rush of confidence blowing into my team. The cheers of our home fans were working; they were giving us the psychological advantage over our opponents.
The horn sounded and we returned to our bench. As we listened attentively to our coach’s words, we ran plays in our head like studying for an exam. We did not want to lose, not with so much at stake and not in front of our own schoolmates.
The game was a fast paced one. They hit at us hard and quick, hoping it will disrupt out flow of play and at the same time, deplete our morale. And for a while, it was working. They went on an early run of 9-0 and we couldn’t find the rhythm. Yet we did our best to keep up by playing a strong defense and we only trailed by 6 points at the end of the first quarter.
Coach quickly changed tactics and we had a much better second and third quarter. We manage to silence their main player and neutralized their offense but we still had no luck with the basket. Still, we were glad to tie with them by the end of the third quarter.
We have not led them at all throughout the game, and to realize this did not help our confident at all. But I knew that we are a collective group of leaders, as shown in many other matches. We had the passion, the grit, the perseverance to pull through. And we showed it in the last quarter. Even though we were shorter, we fought for our position and pulled downed crucial rebounds. Even thought we were tired, we out ran and out fought our opponents. Even though we were losing, we kept our focus and made our shots.
Last 5 seconds of the game, we finally led for the first time in the game by a hard fought 2 points. But we lost the ball, and their star player had the ball. He sprinted down the court and we all knew he was not someone who will crumble under pressure. He will make that shot to tie the game. Someone has to save the day.
It came in the form of the quietest player, our point guard. He ran at a speed which I never seen him ran before, and caught up with him in mid-air. He slapped the ball out of his arms. As I saw the ball float through the air, a rush of blood went to my head and I had to release it.
Nobody could ever describe that feeling of elation, not even Shakespeare himself. I screamed into the cheering crowd and felt the release of energy in me. That feeling was priceless.
This match thought me never to give up no matter how bad the situation was. As long as there is a willingness to persevere, the success will be yours. And as you achieve what you want, the fulfilling feeling is the best anyone can ask for.

My Favourite Childhood Fairy Tale
Orientation
The story is about a little boy shepherd who was put in charge of the village's flock of sheep on the hill.He got bored, so he decided to amuse himself.
Development
So he took a great breath and sang, ' Wolf Wolf! It is eating the sheeps' and to his delight, many of the villagers heed the call and started rushing up the hill with their axe and hoes to help chase the wolf away. Instead, all they saw was just the shepherd laughing and rolling on the floor and the sheeps were safely grazing on the green grass.
As the villagers went down the hill, the shepherd began feeling lonely and hoped for the same excitement he got from the previous incident, so he did the same thing. 'Wolf! It's really here! Help!' and soon an army of villagers ran up the hill. Much to their dismay, they were faced with a peaceful scene of sheeps grazing and one laughing shepherd. An elderly walked up to the shepherd and told him, 'Save your frightened song for when there's something wrong! Don't cry wolf when there is NO wolf!'
Complication
Nearby, hiding in the bushes, lay one wolf who was awakened by the commotion and decided to check on what happened. It was happy to see many sheeps and was tempted to make himself a scrumptious dinner.
Resolution
Right after the villagers disappeared from the hill, the wolf jumped out and started jumping at the sheeps. Alarmed, the shepherd boy jumped up and sang as loudly as he could, 'Wolf! Eating the Sheeps! Help!' but this time, nobody came as the villagers thought the boy was playing a a prank again and decided to ignore him.
As the sun went down, the villagers realized the absence of the boy. So they went up the hill and found him crying beside a tree.
"The wolf came and chased away all the sheeps! Why didn't you all come when i cried 'Wolf!'?" sobbed the boy.
"Nobody believes a liar...even when he is telling the truth," said the old man.
Coda
From this story, i learned that we should never play around or betray the trust of a person who had faith in us. In times of need, we will not be able to get support from him/her. Also, i learned that a person should never lie.

To read a book in a mess.

I have been really busy the past few days, thus the late entry. I wanted to actually finish the book i'm committed to before posting this but i have no time to go through the whole thing so i will blog this based on whatever i have read.
The book i'm introducing is, as i have promoted to many people in the last few days, is:
LORD VISHNU'S LOVE HANDLES
The cover of the book is as above.
Reason for choosing this book:
1. The cover caught my eye amongst the many books in the library. I mean, who wouldn't browse a book which has an indian cow as it's cover picture and has a title that suggests the body of Lord Vishnu?
2. The second thing which got my attention was the first two lines of the whole book. 'Shelby is a slut. She is also my wife.' suggests it might be a good story.
3. What's more, my favourite skateboarder, Tony Hawk, recommends this book.
Why Others should read this book:
1. If you are looking for a much more humorous version of the Da Vinci Code, this book might be the one.
2. If you like American humor (eg. Dude, Where's My Car or Harold and Kumar Goes to White Castle) , some random parts of this book might give you a laugh or two.
BUT, if you cannot take vulgarities, please stay away from this book or it may disgust you.
So far i have read about 3/4 of the book, and it has got me addicted to the story line. I recommend this book to anyone who loves books that goes a little overboard with their words and imagination, and anyone who loves many twists and turns in their story.
Okay i'm off to finish the book already so Ta-Ta.

Weekly Journal: A Team
What will make or break a team?A team is formed when a group of people have a common goal and is working towards achieving it. So what will make a successful team?
1. Commitment. If any of the members does not have the die-for-the-team mentality then there might be times when he/she will not put in a 100% effort. That little loss might end up to be the deciding factor when the team fails.
2.Group Cohesion. The bond between the members are equally important as they will have to depend on each other when facing troubles. Sometimes things may not go right between the members but they will need to work it out on their own or they might not be able to complete their task. To build this bond, members will have to adapt a 'all for one, one for all' mentality.
3.Eagerness to Succeed. I feel that in order for a team to finish their task they need committed members, who tries to give 100% week in week out. But the hard reality is that this kind of team will not go far in this day and age. For example in the sports, The top teams will usually have a few players who will give their 110% to ensure the team gets the championship. Like Manchester United, who has Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney. They never give up and they will attack and attack until the final whistle to get the winning goal. Or in the Cleveland Cavaliers, Lebron James' basketball team. The team may help until the last quarter, when their star player starts to explode for 60% of his points in that final 12 minutes to ensure his team's win. This is what i mean by a 110% player, who will be the difference between the championship team and a mediocre team.
This three points will also set the standard for a successful player. The least a team member can do is to stay committed, give 100% or more, and be compromising when troubles arise within the group so that problems will be smoothed out quickly.
Thank You.

A new year, A really new beginning.
This year, there will be things that change and things that stays the same.

2. new targets in life.
3. new me.
Same1. doing same stuff
2. seeing the same things when i look out the window
3. still in a school which works more like a boot camp

Speech assignment.
Context: In the recent batches of sports class students, there have been reports of rebellious acts and rowdy behavior. this had led to calls by various teachers to scrap the project.
The SpeechGood morning Board of Directors, Dr Boon and Miss Cheong. Thank you for hearing our voice about this matter.
I know some teachers are unhappy with the class’ behavior during classes. We are claimed to be ‘always talking and moving around’. I believe this is because of the nature of sports players. Like how we act when we are on our fields, we tend to be more hyperactive, and also at the same time, verbal.
We love to be in action all the time, always on the move, always thinking fast. That’s why we have to move, and we can’t stay in a seat for long. Also, we feel that communication between each other is important regardless of what sports we play, as it will allow us to understand each other better, and create the bond between us, which was the first motive of having this program.
I suggest we should be taught in a more hands on way than a sit-down-and-write method. This way, we will feel better and much more energetic than lethargic if we just sit there and not move.
Please, solve the problem instead of taking everything away from us. We need the identity among us.
Thank You.
glory glory man utd!
of my ten years of supporting man utd, last night's results must be one of the most shocking. 7-1 win against Roma. i half expected them to lose. i mean, look at their squad! 7-1.... weird. but anyway it's man utd so dun care. Man Utd forever ar!
boring day today. normal school, normal trip home. did gym(motivated by Men's Health), now aching all over. hey they say aching means the muscle is building. good news to someone who really needs to convert his fats to muscles. :D
SS test tmr, and i manage to finish Scarface. The world is mine now teehee. u get the yeyo, you get the pussies. lol. vulgar game. Ms Cheong will die half an hour into it.(Overwhelming vulgarity syndrome)
funny shit of the day: "if u shooting free throws, i feel bad for you son. you can shoot 99 free throws and ain't hit one" Skillz, diss to my favourite player Shaquille O' Neal.
Glad that i finally saw you online. :D:D
!!
freak my blog is screwed. maybe i should just use a normal template. in the meantime, just..... read what u can see alright. sorry for the inconvenience. will rectify asap.ohmygawd what am i doing online at this time. i should be sleeping. and i think coach doesn't like me. what a way to start the new season, hong kai. how we dun always meet online, is really tough for me. without u, i'm losing focus. Nobody warned me about your smile.
funny thing, school
lol. long time since i've posted here. been really busy with different things. exams, tuition, homework, blah blah blah. all schoolwork.school is always boring, super mundane. okay that's what i prefer, but still we need some occasional change man! like last year, we had events after events. the school concert at esplanade was good, but my bad fashion sense screwed the day a little. anyway, i suppose all of this won't happen anymore, along with good stuffs like the sec 3 bonding camp, thanks to the Good decisions by the school management committee, led by the hypocrite dr baboon and the anti-sports-class MISS cheong may lan. (guys pls keep on staying away from her, will do you good) and then some screwed nut, in this case the haha-funny Sim Ah Lian, came up with a fknut idea of show and tell during assembly. like wth? this is suppose to work better than the bonding camp? yeah okay.school funds are as usual, used to the benefit of us students. like when an vip comes around, money is spent on potted plants and banners, and teh poor student councillors get to help like they are suppose to. Accomplished Honourable Servants, i say.oh and, anglican high isn't exactly that high. you know it's kinda shitty, to go back to primary school gatherings, and when all your raffles, anglo chinese, nanyang friends start talking about homework, you get left out. it's like, we are suppose to be the top 15% top 15% top 15% top 15% top 15% of the cohort right, how come we ain't learning shits the top schools are learning? are we like any other schools out there? you know what i mean. our standards are like them, and i feel that we have to do something out of the box rather than just study harder.students and teachers who are going for the MOE survey, give ur best effort to stop Anglican High School from becoming Anglican Secondary School. We wouldn't give others a good impression if we turn into the latter. ASS.....
Music. Hell Yeah.
finally, a school assignment with a topic that is my passion. MUSIC.
Music nowadays, is this.
This
And this

Not that i hate this kind of music. i like how some of their songs go too. the beats and all. But what i can't stand is the people who listens to it. this kind of people is EVERYWHERE.
what do they do? they go around promoting all the number 1 hits song. who sang the song, who gets the fans. and what the fans do is really crazy. they blast the song everywhere, asking everyone to listen to it. yeah well okay, this is youth culture. B*llSh!t. all this is fashion. just like their clothing. if some boyband put out a lovey dovey song that sounds like the best song ever, fans go crazy over it. "fans". after a while, when all commotion dies down, like maybe 10 or 20 years later, all this 'fans' would have already went after the thousands of teen idols after this boyband. lol. which real fan has actually stuck with this band for the past 10 years? go thru the ups and downs of this band? i suppose less than 100.
okay enough of beefing. p!ss3d like dunno how many people already.
This is my music, as everyone sees it.

Guns

Drugs

Blings
Gangs
yup. common views of rap music. what people dun see is(because they shun away from the lyrics), men trying to express themselves. tough men. they been thru things spoilt, ignorant teenagers like us nvr been thru before. parents seperation, be it jail terms or divorced. siblings, half-siblings or cousins getting shot dead in front of them. they themselves getting shot for earning money on enemy turf. how were they earning money? selling drugs. the risk of police and gang shooting increasing day by day, but they have to do it because of their family.
I'm going to talk about my favourite artist. Member of G-unit, Lloyd Banks aka Christopher Lloyd.
His dad was always going in and out of the prison. he is lucky his mum still can work, and supports his rap career. he dropped out of school when he was 16 to pursue a rap career. this was when he met his would be clique members 50 Cent aka Curtis Jackson and Tony Yayo aka Marvin Bernard. they began rapping together and dealed drugs. after a period of time they created G-Unit, a rap group that eventually will reach superstardom.
In his song, Survival, he had this few lines:
"Papa was a rolling stone, Never came back home now I'm on my own, So I had to learn a few things bout survival"
he had a tough childhood. he had to take care of his siblings while his mum go to work. this was why he showed maturity at a young age.
I guess he has also been thru backstabs and betrayal, and it is not as simple as it thinks. backstabs in their world really meaning shooting u in the back when u r not careful. he talked about it in the song, 'Stranger'.
"Don't bring 'em 'round if I don't know 'em like that, I feel like it's targets all over my back/Because of these broads that's layin over my lap, A nigga that young ain't 'sposed to live like that"
broads referring to girls trying to seduce him.
he shown the unpredictability of his society in 'South Side Story', another song of his.
"I done learned from mistakes like who's my men, and who's not, Like who's gone run, but who's not, Like who's gone shoot if you shot, Who gone hold it and who's not, Who gone change spots/ In the streets of New York, you can't trust nobody, Niggaz'll run up on you with a 12-gauge shotti"
The verse from the song. read and try to imagine.
"When I was ten years old, I seen a nigga take three in the head, Probably around the same time he used to pee in the bed, I stayed awake, cause my nightmares was seein' 'em dead, Smelled the burnt tires peelin' after leavin' him lead, The killer fled, with a fuckin' laugh, My heart pumpin' on blast, I just started at him, slumped in the grass, Arms movin', fingers shakin', spittin' up blood, DNA mixed in the mud, another ditch to be dug, There I stood, stiffer than wood, See homey used to buy me candy, Now he's gone, who gone provide his family?, My earring, shoulda been runnin', I never thought I'd be that sick, Damn, I wasn't 'posed to see that shit, That's when I thought, It was more than three shots, He coulda been waitin for me, maybe he circled around the block, I turned around at my pops, he like "what happened?", This nigga rolled up and just started clappin', I can still hear him laughin'"
And this. if u want to understand their life read this.
"It was a regular day in South Side, sprinklers and kids runnin', All of a sudden, head's turnin', somebody did somethin', This nigga named, I forgot, fuck it, he lived around the block, Regular gettin' money nigga, but loved to clown a lot, Walked across the park, stuntin', frontin', Diamonds in his ear, diamond watch on, Eatin' a bag of popcorn, Walked up behind a shorty, grabbin' her waist, She pushed him away, so he threw the bag in her face, She felt disrespected, shorty couldn't accept it, Called him a pussy, told him she'd be back in a second, But he din't pay her no mind, Called her a bitch about four times, Stayed in the park, wit' no niggaz wit' em and no nine, And them in no time, older nigga from behind, Swung a baseball bat, left his face all crack, Told him "take all that", Hit him again, popped his chain wit' a frown, And left the clown, with a stain on the ground"
ouch. i can't imagine myself leading their life. their life stories make me treasure my life more.
okay now you all would be laughing ur a$$ off right? saying its all a joke. what about i bring one artist into ur grinning face to SHUT you up.
introducing, Eminem aka Marshall Mathers.
Yup, the ever popular Eminem. Some of the people sure know how to'sing' his rap. but did u all ever try to feel the emotion he was trying to express? Listening and dancing to music is not just to be cool and stuff. You are suppose to feel the music.
His family background was really the dumps. when he was only a baby, his dad left him. his mum was always going out with different man, making him the way he is now. he changed into a violent and unrepentant boy.
I got a gut feeling everyone's going to insult me tomorrow in school. as usual. I'm gonna stop here. part two of this post coming soon.
Meanwhile if u r interested you can go to this link to see the video of Lloyd Banks- The Cake.

Happy Birthday to myself! Thanks for those who remembered. =)this is the day, two years ago, i left. that was my biggest regret.
two years later, after i've seen it all, i'd understood you better.
it seems over, but i will not give up.
so today, i will go through whatever you've been through.
And make amends.
I will go thru those painful 85 days again.
85 days of pain.
of torture.
but i will make it thru this time.
It will start now.
=)
this is getting stupid.
First and foremost,
Happy Birthday to Xiang Yang, Bro, Bo Tin, Sue Ean, Denyse, Yeling and Liang Kai and Zhu Ting =Dokay the past week was really messed up. i feel unreal when i reached school today. seems liek everything was just a dream.
Once upon a time, there was this baseball team, Scorpions. it was the joke of everyone, having acclaimed themself as the best in the country yet lost to a lot of lousy teams. unhappy being tagged as the losers, the owners decides to revamp the whole team, kicking those who were unhappy, and started looking for new players. among these they dropped a pitcher and a firstbaseman, claiming they were not good enough for the team.
they chanced upon two free agent, tom and tim, in the free market, who were good friends. tim was in the entertainment industry but decides to go into sports and see what he could do. Tom was from a championship winning team, the Legends, but because of the death of some players so the team got separated.
Scorpions approaches tim, getting him to join the team. he agrees, and promise to persuade tom to join too. after looking at the disappointing results of teh scorpions for years, Tom doesn't really wants to join the team, afraid that the new team will be worse than the old team. but after days of thinking and Tim's persuasion, Tom finally agrees, and will star as the team's first pitcher.
those will got kicked out of the Scorpion is secretly plotting revenge, and by teaming up with another team in teh league, they created a new team, the Spiders. they even called themselves that so as to spite the Scorpions. Now, this is a team with a lot of promise as they have brought in very good and young players. among them, they got quite a lot of players from Legends, friends of Tom.
All this friends started tempting Tom to join. Other than that, he was facing pressure from the media, calling him dumb to join the scorpions. eventually, Tom could not take it. and decides to quit the team. straight away, the owners threatened him with the contract. He had to be in the team.
Until now, he is still in the team. He's unhappy, but because of Tim's influence, he decided to take it and move on.
Dumb story. If only it didn't happen.
We ain't got shit to live for, you are either heading for the Pen or you are on your way to the Gilmore's.
soccer or basketball?
long time no blog. things that happened in the past week:
b boys tournament started. heard that first game pWnEd opponent 55 points. okay cool. sorry i wasn't there to watch. anyway good luck in hitting 50 for every game.
Singapore won Laos. i watched the match and it was... funny? Man against boys. 3-0 during halftime? that's sick. then second half starts. 4-0. 5-0. 6-0. 7-0. ok that's enough. no wait, 8-0. oops i meant 9-0. okay it's 10-0, like double digits already. and in injury time, 11-0. crazy. such a lousy team can win ppl 11-0. the player that performed the best that night was Lionel Lewis, who saved 1-out-of-1 shots on target. or maybe it's even off target. next day it was all in the newspapers, 11-0 blah blah 7 goals hero blah blah poor attendance... wtf. then the next day, nothing. man, even the papers aren't supporting singapore anymore.
okay i can't really recall any other things and i dun bother remembering.
Q: once, there was a grey lobster and red lobster. they were being attacked. which one managed to run away?
Ans: grey lobster, because red lobster is already cooked.
LAME, THANKS NICK.
Aye yo P, fuck these niggaz man, I buck these niggaz man.
conformist.
San Guo Yan Yi website not working. brother not coming yet. that's why i'm bored.
During english today, ben tan talked about us teenagers being conformist.
Conformist : to act in accordance with prevailing standards or customs i gotta agree with him man. look at how us basketballers dress. t shirt, jersey pants, slippers/bball shoes. cool.
if we dun look like that, we are not bballers. so in an effort to show ppl we are 'athletes', we try to dress the same. i admit the same thing happened to me, and now i'm used to dressing like that.
Music too. if it ain't pop, it ain't cool. wtf? so if someone has a liking for a specific type of genre of music, he's a weirdo? this is the part i really dun understand. conform at it's best.
I'm a serious victim of this. Come on man, i listen to rap ever since beckham scored that 50 yard goal. i just feel that rap is like a way for someone to express himself. a rapper must be good lyrically to put his emotions and opinions into a verse. someone like Eminem? Lloyd Banks too.
Okay i know i have been a real jackass in sec one. doing all teh rap shit and stuff. but dang, i've changed.i'm not so hot about it, i dun blast nigga shits in ur faces, but i still get treatment. it gets overboard at times, but i gotta take it cos i like the music. i do pop too, just that i'm not so up to date. now get off my back.
students everywhere are really conformed. damn whatever, i just do my thang.
Don't bring them round, If i ain't know them like that.
Just to make sure.
Okay people. i have to make it clear first. my reason for choosing such a ghetto blogskin is because of my love for rap music. i'm not trying to be ghetto or anything, i just listens to the music. Rap music is just a way of relaxation for me, so please do not find it weird or anything. Thank you.
=)
